DMCA & Copyright Policy

We publish original work and cite our sources. If you believe something here infringes your copyright, this page explains exactly how to tell us and what we will do.
Our commitment
Upgel Bike Maintenance at https://upgel.online publishes original bicycle maintenance guides written by us, together with original diagrams and figures. We respect the intellectual property rights of others and we expect the same in return.
We do not host user-uploaded libraries of third-party material. Almost everything on this Site is our own work. Where we refer to another source, we cite it and link to it rather than reproducing it. Where we quote, we quote briefly and with attribution.
Even so, mistakes are possible — an image credited wrongly, a quotation longer than fair use permits, or material submitted to us by someone who did not hold the rights. If you are a copyright owner, or an agent acting for one, and you believe material on this Site infringes your copyright, this page explains how to notify us. We respond to complete notices in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512.
How to file a takedown notice
To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include substantially all of the following. Missing elements may make the notice invalid and will slow down our response.
What a valid notice must contain
Your signature
A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or of a person authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
The work you say is infringed
A description of the copyrighted work. If several works are involved, a representative list is acceptable.
The material you say is infringing
A description of the material, with enough information for us to find it — ideally the exact URL or URLs on this Site.
Your contact information
Your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address, so we can reach you.
A good-faith statement
A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement of accuracy, under penalty of perjury
A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that, under penalty of perjury, you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

What we do when we receive a valid notice
- We review the notice promptly. Because nearly all content here is published by us rather than uploaded by users, in most cases we will simply assess the claim ourselves.
- If the notice is valid, or if there is any legitimate doubt about the status of the material, we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to it.
- Where the material was submitted by someone else, we will make a good-faith effort to notify them so they can send a counter-notice.
- We keep a record of the notices we receive.
- We will contact you at the address in your notice to confirm what action we have taken.
Counter-notice
If material you submitted was removed or disabled and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send us a counter-notice. To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3), it must include substantially the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and telephone number.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the US Federal District Court for the district in which your address is located, or — if your address is outside the United States — for any judicial district in which Upgel may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.
Send counter-notices to the same address above. If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after receipt, unless we first receive notice that the original complainant has filed a court action seeking to restrain the activity.
Repeat infringers
In accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i), we have adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the access of anyone found to be a repeat infringer of copyright. We may also remove material and restrict access at our discretion, with or without notice.
Our own content
The guides, diagrams, figures and design on this Site are original work owned by Upgel. If you believe someone has copied our material onto another site, we would like to know — email contact@upgel.online. Our Terms of Service set out what use of our content is and is not permitted, including that republishing whole guides and using them to train machine learning models require our written permission.
Trademark and other concerns
This policy covers copyright. For a trademark, privacy, defamation or other non-copyright concern, please email contact@upgel.online and describe the issue. We will look at it in good faith.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date.
